SIMONDELIVERS PARTNERS WITH
HOPE CHEST FOR BREAST CANCER
Orono/Navarre, MN–September 27, 2005–Hope Chest for Breast Cancer, a Minnesota-based nonprofit dedicated to raising money to support breast cancer causes, announced today that SimonDelivers, a unique in-home grocery delivery provider, will recognize National Breast Cancer Month through contributions to Hope Chest. “SimonDelivers is pleased to join forces with the Hope Chest during October to help raise awareness and financial support for the organization” said Jim Dorcy, Vice President of Marketing. In October SimonDelivers will be offering thousands of its current customers the opportunity to raise money for the Hope Chest. For every customer that participates and orders four times in the month of October, SimonDelivers will provide a donation of $24 to the Hope Chest. For new customers, anyone interested in trying SimonDelivers for the first time can also help. For the month of October, SimonDelivers will donate $25 to the Hope Chest for all new customers who place their first order of $100 or more and enter “HOPE” in their “apply coupons” section on the order. For more information visit www.simondelivers.com and select partners & news. In addition, SimonDelivers will be supporting this initiative through the use of pink paper for its packing slips and receipts to help remind customers about breast cancer awareness month.
“Hope Chest is honored to be the recipient of SimonDelivers’ generosity,” said Barbara Hensley, Founder of Hope Chest. “We have had such wonderful support from Twin Cities businesses, and SimonDelivers is just one more example of the philanthropic nature of our community.”
“Breast cancer is one of the most devastating of all diseases and we are dedicated to supporting women who need assistance during such a difficult time. SimonDelivers believes in working with local charities like the Hope Chest which, like SimonDelivers, was founded in the Twin Cities” said Dorcy. “Our goals with this donation are to help assure that all women in our community know about breast cancer and their risks and to remove some of the barriers they may face for getting the required screening and treatment,” said Barbara Hensley, founder and board chair of Hope Chest for Breast Cancer. Hensley lost her mother to lung cancer and two sisters to breast cancer. According to Hensley, the money raised through this SimonDelivers’ promotion will help support the various programs that provide assistance to those touched by breast cancer. It will be combined with the revenue stream from the Orono/Navarre retail store which raises money through the sale of donated, very upscale furniture, accessories and clothing along with money raised through its annual Hope Has No Boundaries Shopping Extravaganza, November 17-19 at Eden Prairie Center.
